Artist Statement

People create and value art differently, but for me, I value art as a reminder of memories. Through artmaking, I discover that I am a lonely person, so I use art to express personal emotions to fulfill the loneliness with the creation of something meaningful.

Art also increases self-confidence because it presents the achievement of what I can do, helping develop thought on a deeper level, art appreciation improves, improve problem-solving abilities, and opens minds to a new idea which will make me achieve in the future. Through my photography, I think that it can be seen very clearly that I am a lonely person, so I decide to have a pet to make myself become less lonely and want to experiment with the fulfillment of loneliness to produce art with my dog.

Unfortunately, having a pet can fulfill the love and happiness temporarily because their life is shorter than ours. I learn a big lesson from pet lost because she taught me that loneliness cannot be escaped, to feel the value of life and memories more as well as challenge me to explore, and develop previous works for a new project based on her remaining images.

I discover the purpose of making art after the pet lost experience because I want to preserve, and bring back precious memories with my dog. From what I learned, I want to reflect on my experiences with others to pay attention to everything in life and value the time in the present and future of the loved one.

Through art-making experiences, I learn that art help me overcome loneliness, taught me to create something meaningful, and reflect the appreciation of things and people in life which I believe are the biggest contribution I learned from art. I will continue making art because I want to recall memories of my dog and the people that I loved to preserve memories. From experiences that I learn, I contribute myself to make me grow as well as helping others notice and value things in life more because it offers a powerful message to remind us how important people and things are.
