Eriksson, Vincent Chikara

Born 1999, March 29th.

Japanese, half Swedish illustrator, animator, and video editor that works mainly on digital media. Born and raised in Japan but has an exception living in Sweden. He uses his experiences to make unusual artworks. 

The illustrations he makes have a variety of styles. Influenced by many subcultures such as Japanese anime culture and insects, he makes colorful works that pull people’s interest to the work. The colors he uses make a strong contrast between each other and make the artwork have a presence look. The collages he creates makes most people to think and feel some disturbance of what is happening in the artwork. The gathering of several collages shows how balanced the colors are used although they all have vivid coloring. He has an obsession with the design of insects, sea creatures, and birds so that he incorporates some kind of element of them in many works. He has some kind of Nostalgia to retroistic things like the clothes from the old times that would not be worn today. 

He is influenced by Takehito Harada and Gekidan Inukare. Takehito Harada has influenced the cartoon style of the artworks and the colorfulness of the characters. Gekidan Inukare influenced the dark style of their collages and the vivid or poisonous color that creates the dark atmosphere that comes from every corner of the artworks.

The most important part of making artworks for him is to enjoy making them. By enjoying making the products would naturally make the artworks become something that is satisfying.
