Santalucia, Sophia

With unbridled passion, I capture life’s fleeting beauty through my lens and brush. Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in 1998, I now call Tokyo home, where neon nights and shadowy corners fuel my creative fire. My art is a love letter to the overlooked – a celebration of worn textures, fading moments, and quiet solitude. Through black-and-white film, vivid digital photography, and mixed media, I invite you to pause and marvel at the extraordinary hiding within the ordinary. I blend traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques, carving woodblocks, layering oil paints, and manipulating light to create worlds both familiar and fantastical.

Each piece is a meditation, a moment frozen in time that whispers of impermanence and interconnectedness. From the pulsing energy of “Koban” (2023) to the haunting decay of “Windows” (2024), my work urges you to see the present moment with fresh eyes. Join me in exploring the beauty of the ephemeral and finding meaning in everyday moments.
