I’m Caitlin Wilson from Buffalo, New York, and I specialize in creating horror-based images. I’m fascinated by exploring different themes within the genre of horror and observing how viewers react to my work. In my artistic practice, I frequently utilize paper, ink, pencil, and fake blood which is distinctive as it aligns well with my theme, adding an unconventional element to my work.
Key elements of my visual identity include blood patterns and a pronounced use of reds and blacks throughout my artworks. My focus lies in depicting horror characters, scenes, and narratives, exploring various aspects of horror through visual storytelling in order to get a strong reaction from viewers. I began my artistic journey blending elements of cuteness with horror. Over time, my focus shifted exclusively to exploring diverse themes within the horror genre.
The Creepy Clown series and Ju-On Poster series, both created in 2023, are pivotal in defining my artistic portfolio. One of my notable artworks is Creepiest Clown from the Creepy Clown series, a CMYK silkscreen print on paper. It features a photograph of myself in self-applied special effects makeup, serving as a self-portrait. The artwork is distinguished by its heavy saturation in red, intensifying its horror and gore elements while maintaining visibility of the underlying image.
